Bria Bella & Co. Fashion show

Our daughter Rebecca and I took a ride today to Stevens Point for a fashion show at Bria Bella, our daughter-in-law Tara’s boutique.

The show was delayed from the original July date when a terrible storm hit, and damaged the area. Today we had lovely weather. Not a storm in sight.

Before the show, I got to visit with grandson, Ethan. He was taking some time away from his freshman studies at UWSP and helping out on this special day at the shop.

Watching the guest models show off clothes from Bria Bella was a lot of fun. I’m so happy to be able to have made the trip to Point. Thanks Rebecca for driving.

FYI: Bob stayed home today deciding he wasn’t up to too much walking, or hanging out in a woman’s fashion boutique. It really was a ladies day out for Rebecca and me.

One windy day

To get to our usual critter cam location we’d need a boat. Because of all the rain we’ve had we relocated the camera. As Bob switched the cards today a wind blew one out of his hand. He was worried it had flown into the water-filled ditch. Luckily I found high on the bank close to the tree.

We almost lost this photo and hundreds more. So happy we found the SD card. Bob says he’ll be more careful when switching cards next time, or he’ll just let me do it.

Quick change

Yesterday was a perfect September day. It was not too hot and not too cold and not too windy.

One of our rented fields was being chopped to prepare it for cattle feed. It needs a couple of days to dry before it can be harvested completely.

Last night the weather changed.

Two and a half inches of rain overnight will make finishing that field tricky, though a breezy wind may help.

Temperatures will go up and down for us in September, or so goes the forecast. We’ll just have to wait and see what comes next.

Art Street and Farmer’s Market

Rebecca came by today and offered to drive me to Art Street in Green Bay. Though my sciatica was bothering me, I decided to go for the outing.

We had to park on the 6th level of the parking garage. The elevator was busy with all the people going up and down, I decided to walk down, and then we walked around Art Street. I hadn’t been there in years. It was so much fun.

As we prepared to head home, Rebecca decided to get cheese from a vendor at the farmer’s market (two events makes a HUGE crowd). She said to stand in line for the elevator and she would catch up after getting the cheese.

Well, I stood in line and stood in line. Eventually, I started the climb up, as did a group of other ladies waiting for the elevator.

I took my time, one step at a time. Since I was slow, I stood aside when others needed to me.

Rebecca caught up to me when I reached the third floor–halfway home.

Eventually, I paused and took a photo out a window.

This is from the parking garage fifth-floor landing. It’s of the Farmer’s Market, but looks very much like Art Street from this height.

I made it to the car without a problem, but I think I’ve had enough exercise for today. Time to sit and catch up on some reading.

Here Kitty, kitty

Bob and I set up at the Oneida Farmer’s Market today for the first time. We had extra help as Rob’s Aryana is spending three days with us.

It was cool today, not hot and sweaty. Just right for us.

Aryana found a friend early in our time at the market.

She kept telling people she had 25 cats at home (meaning our barn cats which number about 10).

I took this photo of Ary holding this cat switching from another that was owned by two little girls. I told Bob I was sending the photo to Rob. Bob said, “Tell Rob Aryana got the cat really cheap,” knowing a kitten was the last thing Rob needed. (Bob’s sense of humor was showing.)

Rob said, “Haha. Very funny.”

A gaggle of little girls over-loved the two cats until they hid under the car of the owner–the girls’ mother wasn’t worried. The cats eventually came out at the end of the market.

A fun day was had by all, well, maybe not by the two cats so much.
