Seymour Glows Tonight!

It’s the 31st Annual Burger Fest in Seymour Wisconsin this weekend.

Tonight there will be a hot air balloon glow by Rockledge Park. This will also happen Saturday night. Here are a few photos I’ve taken of past events.

My effort at being creative as the balloons take shape.
Photographer Steve Kemp was in the fire truck basket taking photos from a different angle.
Come be part of the crowd.

Tomorrow is the 8 am Bun run and World’s largest Hamburger Parade at 11. And don’t forget the Ketchup slide at 4.

I’ll be helping in the museum in the afternoon on Saturday. Stop on in.

Enough already

Yesterday I blogged about all the water down our lane. Well, you can double that and more.

If I hadn’t dumped out our rain gauge, the water would have flowed over the top.

We will not be able to get down our lane for quite a while. Unless Bob goes with the tractor to rescue it, we will not be able to check our critter cam.

Of course, just like the last storm, we ended our day with a rainbow.

Just before dark.

In between bouts of rain, I had to rush out to save 2 hens. The door had shut with a gust of wind. All the others had made it inside, except these two old girls. They were soaked, but managed to join the others after I opened the door for them. Poor things. I then had to wait for the rain to slow again before I could get back to the house.

We’ve already doubled our average rain for August and it’s only the 8th. Ugh!

Green Bay Botanical Garden

There are many pretty places in Wisconsin. One that is not far from our home is the Green Bay Botanical Garden.

One lovely corner (there are many lovely corners) is this spot in the Kress Oval Garden. The statue is of George Kress playing his violin for his wife.

This photo was taken late in the season.

I always like it as it depicts love in later years….Too bad Bob doesn’t play the violin, or any instrument for that matter. If we ever had a statue of us together, we would be sitting on the bench together.

Another photo that was taken late in the season.

This old apple tree reminds me of those living on our farm as it has seen many years. A nice place to stop and ponder the ups and downs of life.

Farmer’s Market newbie

Bob and I are preparing to set up a canopy at the Seymour Farmer’s Market tomorrow–if I’m there, expect rain.

I got out my old canopy and tried to remember how to set it up. I haven’t used it for ten to fifteen years and hadn’t kept the instructions.

Canopy ready for assembly

I tried to put it together myself, as I had at art shows, but I needed help. Bob looked at all the pieces and together we managed to get it up.

Canopy up successfully

We found a couple of holes in the material but patched them with Gorilla Duct tape, so I think I’m ready for our new adventure.

Tomorrow I’ll post about our first day. Wish us luck… Yes, Bob will be with me. Don’t forget to stop by our Green canopy.

Music in the Park

Tonight is the first Music in the Park in Seymour this year. Bob and I will be there with bells on which is a great gift for us this year.

I will be handing out the FREE door prize tickets again. I love doing this because it gets me around to see everyone in the crowd, even if for a second or two.
