Uninvited visitors

I walked across the street to get a better view of the sunset. It was a lovely evening and I took time to wait for the sun to sag toward the horizon.

As I stood in the quiet, I heard munching coming from behind me. This is what I discovered when I turned around.

A mama raccoon and her growing brood had come for a snack. They were cleaning up the cat food left by the barn cats.

I tried to tiptoe closer, without making a sound, so I could get a better view.

Too bad they sensed me and took off.

This time they ran north, not up the tree. They all disappeared quickly, not pausing for more photos.

Who is hiding?

Take care and watch where you sit.

You never know what will be popping out from under a sheet. That bump is not a pillow. It’s moving!

Car-E needed a little encouragement to leave his hiding place.

My cat’s adventures take him to many places. Sometimes he comes out of nowhere to attack my bare feet.

Warning! If Car-E likes you, he may show it by biting.

Backyard spinners

Just a quick peek at the spinners in my backyard.

Warning: if they are spinning fast, don’t get too close.

Only on a calm day can I oil spinners and stop their squeaking.

The windchime has been known to annoy visitors. On those days, the clanker is wound around them so no chimes sound.

I’m so used to all the noises coming from my decorations, I don’t notice the sounds at all.

As it has gotten calm now, I think it’s time to squirt a little oil on the spinners.

A scream of joy

This sweetie came to the farm yesterday with his grandparents. Gifts were given. One in particular brought about this reaction.

The second video is of the toy that made this boy so happy.

Fun times were had by all.

Mostly I watched, smiled, and laughed at my young visitor–I didn’t want to scare him as he really didn’t know me.

Even I liked the car that went back and forth. (If the smaller button was pressed the car raced straight off the picnic table.)

Volume up

My early morning walk was accented by the call of cows and calves. They were trying to hurry their breakfast along as they do every morning.

The calm Saturday has a few twittering birds but little traffic, a perfect time for a walk.

Sunny came along for the walk today. Some days my aged canine companion doesn’t care to join me. I’ll take him out and he’ll do his business and then Sunny will sit down, refusing to move. Today walked. It was a good day for him and me.
