New book available

A NEW ADDITION 1982-1983e: is for sale at Sissy’s, Amazon, and Kindle.

I only bought a few books for my family so I don’t have many to sell. When I run out I’ll purchase a few more. Speaking engagements were nonexistent last year and haven’t picked up yet in 2021. Because of this, there’s no need to have many books on hand.

Notice the shelf below A NEW ADDITION. More of my books are there.

I will bring one to the library later this week so eventually, you can check it out.

Some of these columns in this book were included in my first book collection. Many were not. — If you get the kindle edition the photos in the book will be in color (if you use a color reader or computer).

A sticky situation

Weather-related post: too damp for most doors.

It can be a tough job opening or closing doors here. The rain and humidity have caught up to the woodwork and expanded everything so I have to work going in and out.

Even the bathroom door is hard to budge sometimes.

Another rain shower arrived as I am writing this. I think we have enough precipitation for a while. I’d gladly share some with those suffering from drought. Too much or too little isn’t a good thing on a farm.

So long Olympics, until next time

I don’t have cable tv so all the Olympics I watched was on the local NBC station. That was enough, but I wonder what I missed.

It is over for now. Everyone is going home. Here are a couple of my thoughts as the game’s end.

My home seems quieter than usual now that things have ended.

My wish is that the world continues with the kindness displayed at the games. We can all hope and pray that this spreads around the world.

Chickens on the run

They are chickens, but they are also pets.

From left to right: Red (aka Brownie), snowflake, and Bonnie. Watch my feathered pets run for the front porch.

They make me laugh as they run.

There’s leftover cat food there. Chickens will eat anything, yes, even chicken.

Now all I have to do is to worry that they won’t get eaten by a wild predator. I hate keeping them locked up all day. They love getting out to munch on bugs and clover, and cat food. It’s a risk but that’s life.

A playful Car-E cat

It wasn’t easy getting Car-E to play today. He didn’t want to chase a toy or a balled-up paper.

Finally, a laser light got his attention.

Cruella was hiding under the couch. Once her paw came out, but sadly I didn’t catch it on the video. Maybe another time.

Now Car-E is getting into trouble. I hear things falling in the next room. I guess I better check on him.
