A Minute with mosquitoes!

I took canned-air outside to clean off my bug zapper.

It quickly does the trick, but not quick enough as my blood was being sucked by the live ones.

This zapper is away from the house to draw the mosquitoes away. It works, but can not keep up with the onslaught this year.

I thought that I could do this video without being harassed by the mosquitoes as it had started to rain.

They didn’t care.

Swat! Wave! Run for the house! And safety.

Until next time, that’s it from Sunnybook Farm.

A minute with Susan

Work, work, work. No time to write, so just a short video.

Don’t be scared. This is how I look coming in from mowing.

Time for water and time to kick back.

Mosquitoes came out of the bushes! I’m back inside for a while.

Until next time, that’s it from Sunnybook Farm.

A combination of events

I didn’t sleep well as a noisy thunderstorm kept me awake last night.

When I came down this morning, I carried an opened pack of toilet paper. Noise from the living room distracted me.

Listen to my vlog to hear what happened.

Multiple events had me question my sanity, but after searching the house, I did find the lost pack of toilet paper.

When things go missing, I usually ask my sainted mother for help. So many times we searched for her keys and/or purse. Mom was always losing something. Now from heaven, she helps me find things.

So that’s how I started my Saturday morning, searching. Good thing I eventually walked back to the living room. Thanks, Mom.

BTW: that radio never, ever turned on of its own accord before. It was so very odd hearing it playing WPR when I came down. “Bob, were you listening to the radio?”

Bye-bye tooth

I was very nervous driving to Bay Oral Surgery in Green Bay yesterday. A molar was coming out and I was going to be wide awake.

Doctor Ellis and his staff were exceptionally sweet. They kept saying I was doing a great job.

I’m not sure what I’ll do next. Maybe a bridge. But nothing can be done for three months. My mouth has a lot of healing to do.

I was so afraid, I thought about canceling my appointment. I mean, I had been living with the cracked tooth for a month or more already and had taught myself to chew on the left side.

But now it is over and I’m pleased to be rid of the pain.

More soft food today, but that’s okay. Ice cream fits the bill.

Until next time, that’s it from Sunnybook Farm.

Horses on an Amish farm

I visited my friends in Cambria on Monday, August 23, and took some photos of the animals on the farm–photographing the Amish is out of the question.

They are very proud of their horses, so I had no problem taking photos and videos of the horses. This team was harnessed to pull a hay rake. . Notice that they did not walk away even though they were not tethered. A little later, they calmly walked to stand by a hitching post. Soon after taking their photos were taken, they were put to work

I had a wonderful visit with my friends the Ottos. They treated me to lunch and we shared memories of Bob.

It took a bit of courage for me to take the 2+ hour trip to the Otto farm without Bob, but I’m happy I did. To make it less stressful, I didn’t go on Highway 41, but took a country route instead. The absence of the crazy highway traffic made for an easy drive and only added 15 minutes to my trip. I won’t wait so long to go to visit my friends again now that I found this peaceful route.

Until next time, that’s it from Sunnybook Farm.
