A non-blog blog

Working for hours outside means I didn’t have much time to post today. Instead, I made this short video.

I came inside to rest but before I put my feet up I’m posting this tiny update.

Tomorrow means other chores and adventures. Come back then to find out what I’m up to.

Rain gauge

This last storm dropped two inches of rain here. The lawn is soaked so it will take some time to dry before I can mow again.

Walked in a drizzle/mist this morning. It was a little chilly but not too bad.

No good sunrise photo today but I have hope for the sun to appear later today.

Car-E shows up for video

It’s a nothing-special kind of morning.

Raining outside so staying inside with Car-E.

Sometimes he wants to escape the house. Since my house is so close to the road, I don’t want him to do that. A flat cat is not a good pet.

When things are quiet, maybe too quiet, I wonder what Car-E is up to. Today he can go on the enclosed back porch. There he has a good view of the outside world. I just hope that is enough of nature for him. Keeping him safe is a main objective of mine.

No time for mother

In this 1988 column, the last few days of school were not spent in school but at home. All four Manzke children caught a bug, which meant their mother would be busy nursing them.

A mother needs time for herself, but when necessary that time is given up, maybe not gladly, but she does what has to be done.
