Sad anniversary

I wasn’t alone at home on January 8 2021. I met daughters Rebecca and Rachel at the Green Bay Botanical gardens. There we walked, laughed, and remembered Bob, husband/father.

It was a winter day, but very nice for January in Wisconsin.

We dressed in layers for cold weather.

As we walked around and warmed up, coats opened and gloves came off.

Of course, our masks stayed on.

I had expected phone calls this day, but the girls were able to take off of work and spend it with me and that was good for all of us.

Remembering Bob

I recorded this column two days ago. I wanted to present something fun about Bob.

It is one year ago that we lost Bob to cancer. I miss him and I especially miss his odd sense of humor. This column shows how he looked at life’s problems and laughed.

I will be meeting Rebecca and Rachel today for a walk around the Green Bay Botanical gardens. There we can visit and cherish Bob’s memory.

Later I will will meet with Russ, Rob, and other family members.

It is too bad we can’t all be together during this COVID-19 crisis, but together or not we cherish our memories of our special husband/father/brother.

Wallpapering fiasco

This column from the 80s is about wallpapering our kitchen. It sure was a lot of work but Bob and I accomplished this together.

Going over this old home improvement project reminds me that I HATE to wallpaper and will NEVER EVER do it again.

This memory made me cry

Today’s reading is from 1983, when we celebrated our 10th anniversary.

I did okay reading until the end when tears came.

I love my memories, even if they make me sad sometimes.

Bob and I got closer as the days and years passed.

I miss him so much.
