Four-footed helper

Sunny is shedding again. I got out the mop to pick up his hair from the floor. Little Car-E decided to help.

With help like this, I don’t know how I will get anything done.

But it sure was fun letting Car-E play with the mop.

Mr. Peacock

I stopped by my friends’ farm the other day, the ShaBock Farm (usually a bed and breakfast but currently shut down for the virus).

One of my hens wanted to set, so I had to get her a couple of fertilized eggs from a flock with roosters.

As we visited in their yard, the ShaBock Farm peacock began strutting about.

I kept trying to get a photo of the peacock strutting his stuff, but every time I got close, he closed down his display.

I finally got close when he was displaying.

The farm peahens were not around. They were in the barn on their nests. This peacock was showing off for a chicken.

He’s a beauty but also a funny fellow.

Kitten at play

It is so much easier uploading a very short clip of Car-E playing than it is uploading one of my 4-minute readings. DSL in the country can be so slow.

So here is another fun look at Car-E. Everything is a plaything for him.

When Car-E went to the vet I found out she was a he. Now I’m trying to remember that Car-E is male. Sorry if I make a mistake once in a while. After a month of living with her, it is hard to remember she is a he.

Getting closer

Sunny watched as the kitten came closer.

Car-E was playing and not paying much attention to Sunny. He was busy chasing a pencil. It wasn’t until he looked up at the big dog that he stopped moving.

They eyed each other for a moment. Neither made a noise.

I watched, ready to intervene.

They didn’t move.

It was Car-E who turned away first and went on with his play.

I expected the kitten would eventually end up under the dog’s nose. Sunny must have thought the same. He moved, walking out of the kitten’s play area.

These two make life interesting.

New garden sink

It was delivered by UPS yesterday.

Not too hard to put together except for banging the fittings in place on the metal legs.

I thought this would come in handy when kids and grandkids are visiting. They could use this for washing up outside.

The trouble is that it just gushes water out the bottom, so if you are not careful, you’ll have wet feet–also the faucet swings about too easily so that could get you wet, too.

I’m trying to think of a way to add a bit of hose so I can direct the drain water into the flower bed or grass.

At least I got it together….I think. There’s usually something I didn’t do right, but I have faith that one of my kids will figure out where I went wrong.
