Meet my king and queen

My picture book, All the Queen’s Crowns, has two main characters, the king and the queen. The king expresses his love for his queen by giving her a new crown every day. In this illustration from Prayan Animation Studio, we see the young couple without any background.

Digital illustrations come in layers. This does not show any of the things surrounding the characters, but it will when the illustration is finished. Later I will be able to share more of the completed page.

The object of my book is to show different ways of expressing love. Giving too much, as the king does, isn’t always the best, but it does lend itself to humor. Eventually, you’ll see the fun that occurs when the king’s gifts get crazy.

Remember, the book’s title is All the Queen’s Crowns and I hope you’ll tell all your friends about this forthcoming picture book.

Charlie goes sledding

Reading Part 2 of Chapter One of Chicken Charlie’s Year.

Sledding can be fun, but not for Charlie this time.

Many of the stories of this novel had origins in my dad’s stories, but not this one.

My sister Karen was the one who slid down on her butt, being pulled by her tights that were caught on the sled runner. That day was Karen’s birthday. We were pulling sleds down the back road with our horses. I was riding Goldy with a rope leading to a sled. Our cousin was on her horse, pulling another sled. Poor Karen walked home through the fields, hiding her ripped pants with her coat.

Many real happenings were used in this novel. Names were changed to protect the innocent and to make a better story.

Susan’s novel rendition of Broken Cookies

Each chapter of my novel Chicken Charlie’s Year is a story in itself.

Today I’m reading my version of Dad’s childhood story about getting broken cookies.

I hope you enjoyed the portion I read.

Yes, this book is still available for purchase from me and at Sissy’s in Seymour. It can also be found on Amazon as a paperback and large print, and on digital Kindle.

A book for people of all ages.

A book for everyone

I just ordered this book, The Boy, The Mole, The Fox, and the Horse by Charlie Mackesy. I wish I could buy a copy for everyone.

Here’s a reading I found on youtube.

It is heartwarming and can be read again and again.

Definitely not just for children, but for all ages.

Looking good

I love taking photos. I prefer to be in back of the camera, not in front.

This column tells of the time I had my photo taken for the cover of my first romance novel, Never Bring Her Roses.

FYI: I found more copies of this novel in my back closet. Just in case you need a hardbound copy, just contact me. (sunnybook@aol.com)
