Freshly made coffee

I’ve been working on my alcohol ink tiles so I have more to bring and sell at Oneida Apple Fest in Green Bay tomorrow.

Here’s the latest I’ve invented.

Freshly painted coffee mug tiles.

I hope you like coffee.

I will bring some over to Sissy’s to sell soon, too.

Pizza Pudgie pie making — step by step

End of summer means we’re squeezing in a few campfires so we can make pudgie pies. Here’s how we made pizza pudgie pies for my birthday celebration with Andy and Rebecca.

First, get a pudgie pie iron. Spray bread sides that will go against the iron. Put pizza ingredients on one slice of bread: pizza sauce, mushrooms, onions, pepperoni, black olives, and cheese–whatever you like.

Cover all with the second slice of bread.

Close the pudgie pie maker and clamp it shut.

Put it over hot coals and check it often.

Andy made sure mine was perfect.

When finished it’s good and it’s hot, so be careful when you bite your pizza pudgie pie.

Enjoy.

Learning a little

I have been trying to learn German online. I use the free website Duolingo.com. If a person doesn’t want advertisements a student can pay for them to be removed, but I’m too cheap and go for the lessons that are completely free.

I work at duolingo.com from my laptop and cellphone.

There are many more languages on the Duolingo website than German. Here’s the list I gleaned from Wikipedia.

Did you notice you can actually learn Klingon?

A person can also learn English on Duolingo.

This is the perfect learning opportunity for me. German words don’t exactly stick in my memory, but I can review a lesson over and over and over again. No one is judging my progress. I keep going because I want to.

I’ve heard that learning a new language is a good way of keeping your mind sharp as you age. I also know if anyone speaks German to me they will have to do it very slowly, one word at a time, or I won’t understand them.

It’s a great opportunity and it’s FREE! Give it a try. You have many choices.

Guten Tag.

More Farmer’s Market activities

Aryana had a ball at the Oneida Farmer’s Market. She only returned to us for food or to show off.

A gentleman at the event was making balloon sculptures for the children. Aryana came back with a yellow dog….I sent her back with a donation for his efforts.

Once wasn’t enough for our granddaughter. She returned with a long sausage dog–it sat on her chair until it burst on its own power and scared me to death.

Aryana eventually learned to make her own sausage balloon dogs. All she needed was a help with the air pump to blow up her balloons. The red, green, and blue ones in this photo were her very own creations as was the big round balloon on the stick.

All the children who visited this booth went away from the balloon man happy with the creations he made for them, but our girl was a fast learner and made some of her own–we had to drag her away from the balloon man’s booth, but she went home happy.

Here Kitty, kitty

Bob and I set up at the Oneida Farmer’s Market today for the first time. We had extra help as Rob’s Aryana is spending three days with us.

It was cool today, not hot and sweaty. Just right for us.

Aryana found a friend early in our time at the market.

She kept telling people she had 25 cats at home (meaning our barn cats which number about 10).

I took this photo of Ary holding this cat switching from another that was owned by two little girls. I told Bob I was sending the photo to Rob. Bob said, “Tell Rob Aryana got the cat really cheap,” knowing a kitten was the last thing Rob needed. (Bob’s sense of humor was showing.)

Rob said, “Haha. Very funny.”

A gaggle of little girls over-loved the two cats until they hid under the car of the owner–the girls’ mother wasn’t worried. The cats eventually came out at the end of the market.

A fun day was had by all, well, maybe not by the two cats so much.
