Another Car-E video

I catch only a few of this kitten’s antics. Car-E is always into some mischief. For him it’s play first, or maybe food, and then sleep.

Car-E is soft and cuddly when he falls asleep in my arms.

But he can turn into a playful biting kitten in seconds after waking.

I think he has doubled in size since coming to leave with me.

Tea with the Dames

I have wanted to view this video for a few months. I saw it for a price on Amazon Prime.

Since I didn’t want to pay to watch this I finally remembered what I could do. I borrowed it from the library. It was actually in my local library and was on the shelf. I was able to pick it up curbside the same day.

The four dames are Dame Maggie Smith, Dame Judi Dench, Dame Joan Plowright, and Dame Eileen Atkins. All these women are fantastic actresses, starting in their youth and continuing through their lives.

These four have been friends since the 1950s. In this video, they visit and talk about their lives, loves, and friendships.

It is about 86 minutes, but I wish it was longer.

I recommend this video to anyone who has enjoyed the many acting endeavors of these women.

There are limits

Sunny is a very patient dog, but there are limits when it comes to Car-E the kitten.

In this video, Sunny seems to tolerate having Car-E close, but only for a few seconds.

When he had enough kitten closeness, Sunny just got up and left.

At least, this time Sunny didn’t bark. He’s not one to bark much, so when he does I notice (see me flinch), but Car-E never pays much attention to the dog’s comments.

The only one who isn’t accepting the kitten is our other cat, Cruella. When Car-E came close to her this morning, she hissed and ran upstairs–that friendship might take some time.

Just another day in my life…nothing earthshaking.

Quiche — a sort-of-recipe

I ate a slice of quiche made by someone else. It was good, but I knew I made better.

Though I haven’t been baking, making a quiche kept creeping into my thoughts until I had to do it.

First, I listened to Alexa tell me a recipe. Then I took what I had at home and without measuring, I made my egg pie.

Quiche

1 frozen pie crust; 5 eggs; some half and half (I used condensed milk from a can because that’s what I had), chopped up bacon, onion, mushroom, shredded cheese, salt, and pepper to taste.

Mix ingredients, pour into pie crust, bake.

I have a countertop oven on my back porch, so that’s where I baked it.

I kept an eye on it, but it took about an hour at 350 degrees.

I had inserted a knife in the center at about 45 minutes and it was still liquidy.

The result was very yummy. Measuring and choice of ingredients are always optional.

I’ll be eating this quiche for a few meals, but that’s okay with me.

So, now you have a rough outline, not a recipe for a homemade quiche.

Poor spider plant

As I said, Car-E loves to play with anything. It could be a cat toy, or a pencil, or a dropped napkin.

Today, my kitten became playful with a plant.

The bigger house cats, Othello and Cruella, just chew on the spider plant. They do not play with it like Car-E.

He is a joy to watch.

I hope you enjoy his kitten antics, too. Too soon he’ll be lounging around the house like the older cats.
