The storm missed me

It only sprinkled here, but I sure heard it.

Hours of grumbling clouds woke me this morning.

For a time, it looked like the storm would visit my farm, but luckily it didn’t.

First blooms of the season

Spring is finally coming to the farm.

Storms are in the offing this evening. Fingers crossed that these don’t get beat down by hail.

More tulips will be popping open soon.

It’s just the beginning of a colorful growing season.

Kitty brawl

This brawl continued through the living room and into the kitchen.

Along the way, things were knocked to the floor.

And Barn-E took the time to attack my ankles. I have the scratches to prove it.

Still, they entertained me. Go figure.

Mothers Day

I was lucky to have company today. Three-quarters of my family drove to the farm. The other quarter had flu, and rightfully stayed home. Gifts today were blooming and will continue for months to come.

I do love the gifts, but I love the hugs even more.

Also, some yard work took place as children and grandchildren picked up sticks and pine cones.

I am blessed.

Spring chickens

The day was lovely, but my three hens took their time walking out their roost door.

Eventually, they ventured across the yard and ended up under their favorite bush.

From this point on, I will open the door each afternoon for these three hens. Hopefully, nothing bad will befall them.

They need some freedom, but things do happen.

Fingers crossed no invader comes for a chicken dinner.
