Weekend visitors

Rachel and Wyatt came for an overnight visit. Rain kept us from a lot of time outside, but we found enough space between the showers to pick up sticks in the lawn.

Wyatt went back for one of grandpa’s grabbers to make the work easier. Well, it make it more challenging and fun for him.

Rachel took this video. Soon we were heading inside again as rain was starting, ending our outside time.

Happy tears

This June 1989 column tells how tears can show happiness.

Memories are good to keep, they are also good to share.

I hope you save some of yours and then share them.

Little sister Lee

My dad became a big brother when his half-sister was born. He found her a cute baby until she grew into a tattletale.

Listen as I read two of his family stories.

As Lee and dad matured, they became friends.

When Lee needed real help, Dad became her pretector.

It’s all about prayers

I was praying a lot in 1989. My dad was diagnosed with cancer and farming was the pits.

In that time, I wondered how many prayers we were allotted. This column recounts my thinking at that time.

Praying to win the lottery seems like a waste of time for a person praying and for God.

This weekend we commemorate those who have fallen in service to our country. Memorial Day weekend is a good time for prayers.
