With a little help from my friend

I had scraps leftover from making pillows from Bob’s shirts. Some of the bits were big enough to use in other ways so I set to work cutting the pieces.

Car-E thought the pieces dangling from my hand were there for him and he started attacking the material and me.

This clip doesn’t do his antics justice.

I couldn’t cut while he was leaping up at me. Videoing just didn’t work either.

Yet, I thought this crazy cat’s antics were worth sharing today.

I still have more shirt pieces to work on, but when I do I’ll lock Car-E in another room.

The sad saga of the picnic table

On August 2, I ordered a folding picnic table (Store name withheld at this point). It was to be delivered on the 8th, and then the 12, and then 13th….. Finally, it was to come today, the 17th, between 10 and 12.

A huge box was delivered by a freight company. It had my name on it. I couldn’t wait to open it and unfold my table–no assembly was required.

I planned on eating my lunch outside on my new table.

I couldn’t wait. I had anticipated this picnic table for weeks. I took photos of this big event as I planned on sharing my purchase here, with you.

It was extremely heavy, and I struggled to get it out of the box.

It wasn’t my folding picnic table.

It took all my strength to get that two-sided, 110 pound table top back in the box.

I wanted to cry.

Frustrated, I called the store, but heard the hold message and then went on their web site but was told to call the 800 number. Finally, calling I sat on hold for forty minutes.

They said my picnic table came straight from the manufacturer. They couldn’t understand how there was a mistake.

I’m to wait for a call from them to pick this THING back up–It’s too heavy for me to move it. Once returned, I get my refund.

But what I really want is my Picnic Table!

The sad saga of the folding picnic table continues.

Sissy’s store visit continued

Being in the country means my internet connection is DSL. That is why it takes me so long to upload or download files, especially videos. Even this thirty second video took all afternoon to find its place in my computer.

It is frustrating, but I’m still happy I have something that connects me to people outside this house. It would be like going back to the stoneage if I couldn’t meet up with friends and family daily. Mail would be my only option and I don’t want to go back to that.

Anyway, here is the very short video I shot at Sissy’s yesterday. If you need a gift and don’t want to face a huge monster store, stop in and look around, but don’t forget your mask.

And please remember to check out my books and paintings, too.

A visit to Sissy’s in Seymour

You never know what you will find at Sissy’s.

You may find tiles made by me.

Or my books….

and books by other local authors.

Or daughter Rebecca’s copper trees.

Sissy’s is a special place.

I took a 30-second video at Sissy’s but it is taking forever to download. It looks like I’ll have to wait until tomorrow to post it.

Status of my mail-in ballot

I mailed my ballot for the Wisconsin election soon after I received it. But how do I know that it arrived?

I checked www.myvote.wi.gov. (I requested my ballot on this same link after talking to my town clerk.)

Back to the reason for this blog:

When I put in my information (I’m registered) it listed when I requested my ballot, and that the request was approved on the same date.

The next block said they were preparing my ballot and that it was mailed to me the same day.

The next notification block told me that they had received my completed ballot.

I’m now sure that my ballot is set to be added to all the other votes, both mail-in and in-person ballots, for the August 11 election.

If you vote by mail, like I did, mail it back as soon as possible.

Get Out The Vote Clipart

In Wisconsin, you can request a mail-in ballot and check on its status on the internet. I think that’s progressive.
