Amazing sunset and bird sounds

I tried to catch geese and swans landing as they came in for the night.

Too bad they didn’t fly close enough, but you can sure hear their happy calls.

A closer look at tundra swans

Most of the time they are farther back in the field, but yesterday evening they moved closer to my home.

My Merlin Bird ID did hear these birds and a lot of the smaller ones that come up to my bird feeder. The swans and geese are looking for corn that fell on the ground. The disappearing snow helps them find a snack.

Listen for the bird sounds

Some are in the distance.

You might have to really turn up your volume to hear the sound of the birds this evening. They are the real heralds of spring.

An unwanted night-time visitor

Spring must be close at hand. Wild animals seem to know it. Birds are returning to the area and skunks are coming out of their winter retreats, ready to find a mate.

I hope I don’t come across the path of a skunk any time. That is my hope for Stella too. When we go outside we will make lots of noise so every wild animal knows that we’re about and that they should vacate the yard.
