Dog searches for rabbits

Not much happened this afternoon. Thank goodness no rabbits showed up.

Other times, Stella had seen rabbits and raced to catch them. Lucky for me, none came around today. Stella is a strong dog. We have to work together so she doesn’t pull too hard when she’s any critter.

This afternoon was peaceful. Thank goodness.

Celebrating being a columnist

I can’t believe I’m still writing a weekly column. It all started in the Farmer’s Friend in 1980.

So much of my life has gone into my column. I have many friends/readers around Wisconsin and beyond. I never expected to have so many friends because of my little stories. Most I’ve never met in person, but that makes them all very special.

Thank you to all my supporters and thank you Wisconsin State Farmer for believing in me.

A sunset worth saving

The geese were flying in. The sandhill cranes were ‘singing’ this evening.

I didn’t want it to end.

I’m sharing this with you so you can appreciate the beauty of Wisconsin.

Snowdrift magic

The beauty of snow takes the edge off living through a Wisconsin winter.

Looking out my back door I see contours in the snow drifts that are very creative. They were made by the wind and the blowing snow. I am appreciating them at a distance as the wind chills me. It is also safer for me inside.
