Doggie day-care

I slipped Stella’s leash over a post so I could let the chickens out of their roost.

Stella would have me at her side constantly. I just wish I understood all her doggie-talk. Sometimes we don’t connect.

I think she wants food. She wants out. I think she wants out and she wants food. All the rest of the time she wants the house cats or these chickens.

When I am mistaken, I usually have a puddle to mop up.

Cat on the rampage

I was so frazzled that I called Barn-E the wrong name in this video. It wasn’t Car-E trying to tear apart my computer wires, it was Barn-E. It’s easy to mix up their names. They are all troublemakers.

Today all my house pets are trying to drive me crazy with Barn-E as their leader.

I can’t turn around without one or the other getting into trouble.

It’s for sure they are working together. It’s like they want me to tear my hair out.

Don’t they know I’m the one who brings them food, water, and toys?

I think not, because Stella just ran off with my kitchen towel. She expects me to chase her. I don’t think I have the strength right now.

I think I’ll take a nap, but I’ll have to keep one eye open, just in case. Who knows? They might mount an offensive.

Stella and the three hens

My puppy always is very interested in the chickens when they walk across the yard.

Most times she barks a lot at them.

Today they were closer than usual.

If Stella ever charges those birds when I am holding her, I sure hope I have a good grip on her leash. Because if she got hold of one she would think it was squeaky toys for sure.

Yardwork intrigues Stella

Before the heat did me in today, I took out my battery-operated weed whacker and took it around the yard.

During this time, Stella sat, tied under a tree, and watched me work.

During her next time in her dog fence, Stella had to check out my weed whacking work.

I have to keep an eye on Stella. She loves to dig holes in her yard. It’s another fun activity for her, but not for me.

World Wrestling

I can’t believe Barn-E the cat puts up with this rough play from Stella. No cat claws ever come out.

I do worry that someday Stella will hurt the cat, but so far, she knows how far she can go.

I’ve seen them sleeping in the same vicinity, not together, but close enough. I wonder if they will ever cuddle together.

Barn-E is a tough cat. I have scratches to prove that. I wonder why he’ll use his claws on me, but not the dog.

Right now, everyone is calm. That’s good because I have to catch up on my picture book writing class. The dog/cat wrestling is really distracting.
