A cat and his floppy fish toy

Stella had hold of this toy the other day. Now it’s Barn-E’s turn.

Even though Stella likes the fish, too, it’s really a cat toy. (See the previous video with Stella.)

Barn-E often takes Stella’s squeaky bones, so the exchange goes both ways.

Dog vs. cat toy

Stella loved it when I let her play with this cat toy.

I was afraid she’d tear it apart, so I took it away after a little while.

Toys are Stella’s thing. Too bad for the cats, Stella thinks they are furry toys.

Pumpkin season

Ugly is the word for my pumpkins.

From a distance, they don’t look too bad, so they now decorate my front porch.

When I planted the seedlings in the spring, I had high hopes.

At least, I have something to show you today.

When country roads become busy

What’s coming down the road?

Tractors and chopper wagons are bringing in silage from the fields.

It’s just the beginning of the busy harvest season. Later, corn will be combined.

Soybeans are ripening now. Many farms are busy in soybean fields.

The world is opening up again as corn comes out of fields. It’s when a year’s worth of work starts paying off.

Another piggy story by my dad

My father was the greatest storyteller I’ve known. He used all kinds of expressions when he spoke. Too bad you can’t hear these stories from him in person.

Dad passed away in 1991. I’m happy I have his written stories that I can share with family and friends. It keeps a part of him alive for all of us.

Enjoy.
