As the batteries lose their charge, my blinking Christmas stars are coming down.
This star decorated my kitchen window. Others are in other rooms about the house. Each will be boxed again after they can no longer blink. Christmas has passed, but as long as the batteries hold out, my Christmas stars will continue to light up the night.

I’m celebrating the plants that bring life indoors, especially during the winter.
There are houseplants all over my home. Upstairs I have a fern that my cats investigate every day. When the weather warms, it will spend its summer outside, as will some of my other houseplants.
In January, seeing green plants growing, makes me feel good. They show that spring will return, even if it will take a few more months.
If you have no growing plants, I suggest you get at least one. It will become your green pet. You can even talk to it.
Another good thing about having a plant as a pet, it will stay where you put it.

I have flowers growing in pots, but today I planted greens for eating. They are growing in water.
Seeing plants grow lifts my spirits during winter. It is especially good when I can eat some fresh-grown greens, which will eventually come from this garden.
Next, I’ll plant some petunias for a splash of color.
