A pleasant memory

Driving north on Miller Rd from County G flooded me with memories.

All of 1977 Bob traveled from Illinois to northeast Wisconsin, moving the family farm north.

I took the ride sometimes, leaving our two young children with grandma.

Today this view reminded me of our move when we found our forever home.

Hummingbird at feeder

The hummingbird sounds like a bumblebee. The loud bird sound on this video is from a neighboring bird, not this little guy.

When I refill this feeder I boil 1 cup of water and add 1/4 cup of sugar (4 to 1). It dissolves into a clear liquid and needs no color added to it. It is cooled to room temperature before being added to the feeder.

I’m so happy that this new feeder does not allow bugs to get inside, yet the hummingbirds can get their fill without a problem.

Rising with the sun

I’m glad I didn’t stay in bed this morning. I would have missed this beautiful start to the day.

Early morning is often the best part of the day.

Try getting up when the sun comes up. It might be a great start to your day.

Spring flowers on the farm

This video was taken around five-thirty this morning, before the breeze picked up.

I’m afraid there are more weeds than I want. I pull weeds, yet they return. I wish the flowers would be half as hardy as the weeds.

I have a lot more weeds to pull, but as I do, I can admire the flower colors as they pop out around the farm.

Early farm sunrise

I’m an early bird, getting up with the sun. Today I walked back of my farm buildings at five-thirty.

I enjoyed the beauty of the countryside. There was nothing to interrupt the beginning of my day.

Now I share the farm at dawn with you.

Until next time, that’s all there is from Sunnybook farm.
