Blowing across the field

A view I prefer to witness from inside the house.

I checked my weather gauge and as or right now the wind has gone from 20 to 25 MPH.

The land is a sea of blowing white.

I’m sitting by the window, dreaming of spring.

Until next time, that’s all there is from Sunnybook Farm.

Walking in the cold

I watch birds that come to my feeder, but I didn’t expect to see the bird I saw on my walk today.

It soared overhead and attracted my attention. I didn’t see its white head, but I did see the white on its bottom.

It was an eagle flying over the farm.

Too soon it few away. I didn’t have time to video it.

I’ll watch for that eagle when I go walking again. Though I have to watch for patches of ice so I don’t slip. Because of that ice, I have to keep my eyes on the ground more than I do on the sky.

Let it snow!

Some people are suffering through a wicked winter storm today. That snow/ice is south of Sunnybook Farm, but it made me look up another snowy day.

This column is from February 1990.

No snowballs are being tossed around here today. The wind is brisk and the temperature is currently 13 degrees F.

Memories are good to have, but better when shared.

Wishing you a good winter day without much trouble from the weather.

Until next time, that’s all there is from Sunnybook Farm.

A 50-word story — COLD!

Not everyone can stay inside. Many people have to work outside no matter the weather. Today I was thinking about all these special people.

I may not have to work outside much these days, but I’ve done my share in the past.

Extreme weather is not for me, not cold nor hot.

I like things just right.

Until next time, that’s all there is from Sunnybook Farm.

Oh no, BLOWING SNOW!

Two short videos about today in Wisconsin.

That was just thinking about going outside. The next video was taken outside after checking on the chickens and getting my mail.

The only thing in the mail was an advertiser and I dropped it. It is now flying east!

Inside again, safe and sound, drinking hot cocoa.

Until next time, that’s all there is from Sunnybook Farm.
