Warning! Don’t do what I did

If you have furry pets, this might have happened to you.

I knew a guy in his childhood who munched on dog treats. That’s not for me.

Take this as a warning to watch which treat goes to your pet and which goes into your mouth.

Stella’s still playing

It took her a while to figure out how to play, but she did it.

Life is different for Stella, the cats, and me. It will get back to normal after her post-operation time.

I know she will be happy when she can run again. Two weeks feels like a long time, but we’re a few days into that time already.

Right now life is what it is.

Stella and her toys

Stella has favorite toys. Her preferences change from day to day, hour to hour.

Some toys I set aside so they seem new when I bring them out again.

Stella loves her squeaky bones. The bones carry the smell of bacon. They only last so long because she squeaks them so much.

Today her attention is on this green ball, though it doesn’t go into her crate. It’s not special enough.

Stella always wants that soft white pull in her crate when she sleeps at night.

Right now, she’s at my feet as I write. It’s time for a little puppy nap.

A guessing game

I know what these are. Do you?

Never poisonous and good when fried in butter, or so I’m told. I really didn’t care for the taste.

Have you ever eaten one? Would you again?

If you can’t guess. These are puffball mushrooms.

Here’s what Google said: Only young, immature puffballs are edible. The interior tissue must be soft; bread-like, and uniformly white. Once the flesh changes color and/or becomes mushy, spores are present. The mushroom is past its prime, is no longer edible, and can cause digestive problems.

So don’t go willy-nilly eating puffballs.

Barn-E the cat at the door

My cat and puppy were playing around an open door. This video shows how the cat was trying to connect with the dog.

This wasn’t a rough playtime. Instead, it was cute.

After tiring of their play, both found a corner to curl up and sleep.
