A guessing game

I know what these are. Do you?

Never poisonous and good when fried in butter, or so I’m told. I really didn’t care for the taste.

Have you ever eaten one? Would you again?

If you can’t guess. These are puffball mushrooms.

Here’s what Google said: Only young, immature puffballs are edible. The interior tissue must be soft; bread-like, and uniformly white. Once the flesh changes color and/or becomes mushy, spores are present. The mushroom is past its prime, is no longer edible, and can cause digestive problems.

So don’t go willy-nilly eating puffballs.

Barn-E the cat at the door

My cat and puppy were playing around an open door. This video shows how the cat was trying to connect with the dog.

This wasn’t a rough playtime. Instead, it was cute.

After tiring of their play, both found a corner to curl up and sleep.

Stella works for a treat.

A treat has Stella’s attention in this video.

She would have swallowed it in seconds if I just gave it to her.

This way it takes time and energy to get at the treat.

I’m actually surprised it took her a few minutes to get to her tasty food.

Stella is tenacious when it comes to getting treats.

Barn-E in the spotlight

The light cord was just hanging there, but Barn-E found it.

He never did pull the light cord, but he did have fun.

I know he’ll be back, because any hanging cord is so tempting for this cat.

WPR gathering in Green Bay

Wisconsin Public Radio said “Thank you” to its fans in Green Bay this afternoon with a meet and greet in Perkins Park. Norman Gilliland and Peter Bryant did a 5-minute mystery to entertain the crowd and to make us think. Sorry, I didn’t record the whole mystery.

Guests were painting rocks as they munched snacks at the park.

I’m happy I went. Now I can put faces to these two radio personalities.
