Goodbye old furnace

The fifty-year-old furnace had to be taken out from the basement bit by bit. This was the heaviest bit.

I couldn’t use this machine. It had to go.

Even though I had to wait for my scheduled installation date, I did fine with two space heaters and sweaters. Now those heaters can be stashed away again. Of course, sweater weather is around the corner.

Hip hooray for my new furnace!

Furnace prep continues

Richard and Jake from Garrow Oil and Propane worked to set up a propane tank for my new furnace today.

The line from the tank to the house had to be buried. A short part was dug by hand, but most was dug by this very handy trencher.

I’m happy I didn’t have to dig that by hand. I did enjoy watching Richard and Jake work. Next is the furnace installation.

Work by Mr. Power Clean

Here’s a tiny part of the duct cleaning that took place today in my house.

The lines that went upstairs were not as big as these.

My cats hid while all the vacuuming took place. That’s the way they cope as soon as I bring our my carpet vacuum.

Riley and Jon from Mr. Power Clean finished in about 3 hours.

Now I can look forward to furnace installation later this week.

I’ve been living with a space heater to warm up my kitchen and an electric blanket to warm up my bed. A running furnace will be very nice, especially as the weather gets colder.

Autumn via a country road

I drove on Old 47 as I came back from Everflow Farm and Orchard. This is just a snippet of the drive home.

Even Highway 47 seemed too busy for me. Using the country roads meant I could enjoy the fall colors at a slower speed.

Enjoy.

Wind chimes in Autumn

I like the sound of wind chimes. I’m sharing these I listened to on one of the last warm days of the year.

This was at a friend’s home.
