Pileated Woodpecker eating at feeder

This guy has been visiting my front porch. He loves the shelled peanuts I put out.

I had to stand still to take this video. The first few attempts, he saw me and flew away.

Finally, the woodpecker stayed so I could take this video.

Enjoy.

A Mother’s Day Dance

These Sandhill cranes are doing a happy dance today.

I discovered this video in my archives and thought it was perfect to share today.

Orioles and Blue Jays

It is so much fun watching the birds return in the spring. Today I had orioles and hummbirds (not in this video).

I am happy to put out jelly for the orioles and peanuts for the jays to supplement their daily menu. I hear them in the trees, but this brings them close.

Ground-feeding birds

My camera is pointed out my kitchen window. I have to hold still so I don’t scare the birds. More came as I videoed.

I’m happy I could help the birds. Besides assorted seeds, I added bread crumbs.

Happy birds at the feeder

I put peanuts and sunflower seeds out daily.

Bob made these wood birdfeeders some years ago. I don’t fill them up because raccoons come and empty them at night. You can see that the door is at an odd angle. The raccoons did that.

The shelled peanuts are the favorite food of the bluejays. The cardinals (not in the video) like the sunflower seed the best.

There are other feeders around my porch so birds of all kinds can find food here.
