Farm cats come to eat

Six cats are living here. Four were the last litter from the tiger mother and the orange daddy. All six have been neutered, so no more kittens.

The big orange daddy is the sweetest. He rubs against my legs and knocks the bowls of food as I’m trying to set them down.

Yes, they are eating me out of house and home, but they brighten my day when they look in my window as they wait for their food.

Housecats and houseplants

So far, the cats have not hurt my orchids or other plants. Mostly, the cats want to look out the window.

I can’t say the same for my aquaponic plants. To keep those tiny shoots safe, I have plastic covering the tiny bits of growing green. I hope that after the lettuce gets bigger the cats will leave them alone. If not, I’ll have to set up a fence, just like an outside garden is used to keep the rabbits out.

A cat puzzle

Cats play with everything, even food.

Did you guess?

It’s a piece of dry bread.

My Christmas tree

I have my fingers crossed that my cats and dog will leave my Christmas tree alone.

I can sit quietly in the evening and watch the color change on this tree. It makes me happy.

Kittens are ready to eat

The four neutered barn cats didn’t run for the hills. Instead, they stopped to gobble food when released.

Hopefully, they will live for many years.

I’m so grateful for the help of Happily Ever After a no-kill shelter. https://www.heanokill.org/
