A bald eagle being bullied

I heard the eagle before I saw it perched high in a pine tree in my backyard.

The blue jays knew it was there and they didn’t like it. They took turns harassing the eagle. Eventually, the big bird left the tree.

I was happy to see the eagle. I was also happy when it left. My barn cats could have become the eagle’s breakfast.

My cats came to the front porch looking for their food. Some crossed the lawn.

I’m happy the eagle didn’t go for a cat.

Fingers crossed that the eagle doesn’t return.

Hummingbird at feeder

I was standing very still, waiting for the hummingbird to return. One would come and another would chase it away.

After many tries, I was lucky to get this video.

Geese in the rain

I loved seeing these geese, but I wasn’t pleased with the falling rain.

I’m happy I got the video, but I ended up getting pretty wet as I hurried back to the house.

Pileated Woodpecker eating at feeder

This guy has been visiting my front porch. He loves the shelled peanuts I put out.

I had to stand still to take this video. The first few attempts, he saw me and flew away.

Finally, the woodpecker stayed so I could take this video.

Enjoy.

A Mother’s Day Dance

These Sandhill cranes are doing a happy dance today.

I discovered this video in my archives and thought it was perfect to share today.
